WELCOME OUR NEW HOCKEY DIRECTOR!

Obrad Milutinovich- Delaware Stars Hockey Director

It was forty-five years ago when Obrad fell in love with hockey while watching his first Caps game. Four years later, he received his first skates and his mom signed him up for a team at the brand new ice rink in Easton, Md. Three short years later he shipped off to play middle school hockey at the Malcolm Gordon School in Garrison New York, and then on to prep school at South Kent in Connecticut. After South Kent it was on to junior hockey in Alexandria, Va.

At the age of 21, Obrad took on his first coaching position with the Ft. Worth Bulldogs Tier 1, winning the Texas State Championships in their first year.

Soon after came a job with the Dallas Stars working in the pro shop and providing private skill and skating instruction to the Dallas Jr Stars.

After returning to the Eastern Shore Obrad continued coaching and earned his USA Hockey Level 5 certification in 2012. It was at the Level 5 coaching symposium that he was offered a job with USA Hockey to join the Coaching Education Program as a Coach Instructor.

In 2013 Coach Obrad became Hockey Director for the Easton Ice Hawks and earned his Hockey Director certification from USA Hockey in Dearborn, Michigan.

In 2015, he was recruited to the position of ADM Coordinator for the Potomac Valley Amateur Hockey Association.

Coach Obrad is once again behind the bench and excited to join the Delaware Stars as Hockey Director. With a history of developing players for success at the next level, he is excited about the future of Stars hockey. His development philosophy centers around achieving the maximum QUALITY reps possible. In order to effect this outcome, practices need to be fast-paced and fun while allowing players to push their limits, and fail without fear. We must also work to forge a passion for the game, and competition which will drive the players to develop their game at home as well as the rink.
