The Sherwood Park Kings Club is the premiere elite stream program of Sherwood Park Minor Hockey. We operate 11 distinct and competitive teams that participate in the province-wide AAA and regionally based AA leagues. SPKAC athletes represent the best hockey players within the Sherwood Park area as well as our extended AAA draw zones, which include the entirety of Strathcona County and greater Camrose areas.
Not content with simply developing better hockey players, we also strive to develop better character, community involvement and commitment to education in our athletes. Our goal is to move our athletes to the next level...in hockey and in life.

Through a dedicated volunteer base, the Sherwood Park Kings Athletic Club (SPKAC) will deliver an elite hockey program that will set the standard of excellence in developing hockey players to the next level. This will be achieved through our four pillars of success.

U18AAA
At the U18AAA level, the Sherwood Park Kings Athletic Club proudly presents the J. Ennis Kings. With a rich history of success dating back to the early '80s, this team competes in the AEHL U18AAA League against teams from across Alberta. The J. Ennis Kings are composed of talented 15 to 18 year-old players who aim to progress to Junior A and Major Junior Hockey. Notably, the team was once coached by Ken Hitchcock, a renowned NHL coach..

U17AAA
The Sherwood Park Kings Athletic Club hosts the always exciting U17AAA Squires. Competing in the highly competitive AEHL U17AAA League, the Squires feature top16-year-old players from the Sherwood Park AAA draw zone, which extends beyond Sherwood Park into Strathcona County and beyond. This team is a regular strong performer, showcasing promising talents against highly skilled competition with an aim to move players to the next level.

U15AAA
The Sherwood Park Kings Athletic Club is home to the Flyers, a U15AAA team that competes in the challenging AEHL U15AAA League. The Flyers consist of exceptional players from the Sherwood Park AAA draw zone. The team has a history of developing and drafting notable players to the WHL and beyond, including players like Carter Hart, Sam Steel, Kaiden Guhle, and Matthew Robertson.

U18AA
The Sherwood Park Kings Athletic Club fields the Oilers at the U18AA level. Competing in the NAHL U18AA division, the Oilers go head-to-head against teams from around Edmonton and Northern Alberta. The Oilers demonstrate the competitive spirit, drive and skill that Sherwood Park is known for, with a focus on building strong character, sportsmanship & camaraderie.

The Sherwood Park Kings Athletic Club's U16AA team, the Senators, competes in the newly formed U16AA Division of the NAHL. Facing off against teams from North Central Alberta, the Senators exhibit determination, skill, and teamwork with the goal to propel their players to the next level.
