Elevate your hockey skills and immerse yourself in the Whistler Junior/College program at the Meadow Park Sports Centre from August 7 to 10. Led by Paul Crowley, owner of CHE and a seasoned professional player, NHL scout, and OHL assistant coach, this program is designed to provide young players with the high-level repetitions they need to excel in intense game situations.
Each day, you'll engage in 1.5 hours of on-ice skill development, focusing on honing your abilities in critical areas like 1 on 1's, 2 on 1's, 3 on 2's, and special teams play, including power play and penalty kill strategies. You'll delve into power play strategies, working on puck movement at the top of the triangle, understanding half-wall options, executing high rollers from the point, and exploring one-timer options both high and low. Gain valuable insights into power play breakouts, NHL-style entries, and penalty kill forecheck options, as well as positioning in your own end, utilizing the diamond formation, and understanding the difference between aggressive and passive approaches.
To further enhance your development, the program includes 1 hour of dedicated dry-land conditioning and training. Additionally, you'll have ample opportunities for game-like scenarios with a minimum of 45 minutes of 4 vs 4, 5 vs 5, power play, and penalty kill scrimmages.
