The Birmingham-Southern Softball Park, along with the adjacent BSC Tennis Complex, was erected in the spring of 2001 and opened its gates for the inaugural season of Panther softball in 2002. The facility, second to none in the South, features sunken dugouts, a state-of-the-art press facility, home clubhouse and concession stand. The field is made up of Bermuda grass overlying a special sports surface, while the infield consists of a clay mixture covered with Crimson Stone. Batting cages and bullpens provide additional training and facility space for the program.
Prior to the 2003 season, a grand stand featuring 200 permanent chair-back seats was installed to accommodate approximately 350 total fans with the use of additional third base line bleachers. Additional seating and picnic areas surround the facility, making it the perfect host for in- and post-season, plus fall exhibition tournaments.
