Friday Football Festival with Active Stirling’s Active Schools Team!
Each month, our Active Schools Team brings the excitement of football to secondary schools in Stirling with our Friday Football Festivals! These fun, friendly events give young people the chance to play football, make new friends, and enjoy some active time together in a safe and supportive environment.
Designed especially for young students, these sessions are all about creating a space where everyone feels welcome to join in, learn, and grow. Through close partnerships with schools, Inclusion Support Workers like John Ferguson and Paul Docherty at Stirling High, and PC Paul McCafferty, School-Based Officer at Bannockburn and Stirling High, we're bringing these festivals to life with support from across the community.
Our goal is to help students build confidence, develop resilience, and strengthen their social skills while boosting their mental health and wellbeing. With encouragement from school staff and pupil support networks, we make sure every student who wants to participate can join in and enjoy the benefits of being active.
Thanks to funding from sportscotland and Stirling Council, our Active Schools Team is committed to making sports and physical activities accessible to all Stirling pupils. Together with school staff, we recruit and train volunteers from the community and empower young people to become leaders through sports and other activities. We're here to build connections to local clubs and community events, creating lasting pathways for students to stay active and connected!
